2018 – Year of My Dog

Join me in a commitment to making 2018 a year to spend more time with your dog. Connecting with your dog is a great way for you to unplug, get a little exercise, and be outside in nature.  And your dog will love you for it!  Consider signing up for a dog-training class, explore a new park together, or making new BFF’s for your dog.

To kick-off the ‘Year of My Dog’ I recently attended a canine relationship based behavior modification workshop with Nelson Hodges, who specializes in canine behavior.  It was a fascinating journey in learning how to reach my dog in ways that I never experienced and this provided a fun outlet to reconnect with my dog.

To celebrate the Year of the Dog I am committed to morning and evening walks where I dedicate quality time with my dogs. On these walks I make sure to let my dogs smell, as scent is the most important experience for a dog.  The Katy area offers many parks to choose from, but one of my favorite walking paths is in the Willow Fork Park, directly next to Cinco Ranch High School.  If you would like to meet me to go on a walk with your dog just stop in to let me know – I would love to meet you and your dog out there.

Some ways you can spend more time in the Year of The Dog may include:

  • Community Dog Walking Clinic – the last Sunday of every month at Patsy’s. Our community dog walk is a great way to get out with other dog lovers and learn a tip or two while both you and your dog have fun and meet new dogs and people.
  • Friday Night Bark and Wine – join us for wine samplings, appetizers, and mingle with other dog lovers while listening to jazz. Don’t forget to bring your dog so he or she can mingle too!
  • Check out our many events posted on our FB. We host many fun dog –friendly events including doggie Meet & Greets. Our next event is our My Favorite Paw-lentines Kissing Booth hosted by Dachshund Rescue of Houston (DROH). https://www.facebook.com/pg/patsyspetmarket/events

So join me in making 2018 the ‘Year of My Dog’ by spending more time with your four-legged friend. Your beautiful, smart and wonderful dog is waiting on you.
